STARKVILLE, Miss.- North Florida opened the day with a win against Eastern Illinois, but fell again to Mississippi State in game two.

Top Performers
- Freshman Kayla McGory went 3-for-6 and led the team with two doubles and two runs scored.
- Sophomore Dominica Cocuzza recorded two RBI on the day as well.
- Classmate Navia Penrod was the only other Osprey to record multiple hits on the day.
Game 1
- Eastern Illinois pushed two across in the first for its lone runs of the day. Haley Mitchell had a two-RBI double, but the Osprey defense kept the Panthers off the board for the rest of the game as Eastern Illinois left five runners on base.
- A leadoff double from Penrod followed by Taylor Aguayo reached on an error and moved Penrod to third.
- Macayla Kelley then hit a sac fly for the first run of the inning.
- Another double, this time from McGory, saw Aguayo come around the bases and beat the throw to tie the game.
- With just one out and McGory now on third, Cocuzza sent a fly ball to right field to bring home another run for the 3-2 lead.
- North Florida added another insurance run in the fourth after back-to-back doubles from McGory and Cocuzza made it a 4-2 game.
- The Panthers pitching staff only gave up five hits, but the damage was done with the big hits.
- Morgan Blourne got the win in three innings of work, while senior Logan Green earned her second save of the year in one inning of work.
Game 2
- Mississippi State started things off in the second when Emily Heimberger sent a two-run triple to left field.
- The Bulldogs added another run in the frame when a runner beat out a throw to home plate on an infield bunt.
- A leadoff single from Jen Valle in the third allowed UNF to get things started. Alex Arciola pinch ran for Valle and moved over on a sac bunt. She advanced on a throw on a ground out before coming around to score on Penrod's single.Â
- It was the lone run of the game as the Bulldogs kept the bases clear, allowing only two runners to reach for the remainder of the game.
