LakePoint, Ga. - North Florida's Frank German and FGCU's Richie Garcia helped their clubs to season opening series wins en route to taking home the first ASUN Baseball weekly honors of their careers, as announced by the league office Monday.Â
German recorded the first quality start of his career in North Florida's Sunday win over Radford. The victory earned the Ospreys a 2-1 series victory, while German collected the third winning decision of his college career. The righty did not give up a single hit over 6.2 innings of work, allowing just one base runner on a seventh inning walk. The walk would lead to the lone run against German on the day, as the Highlanders scored after the sophomore had already left the bump. German recorded a career high 10 strikeouts against the 21 batters that he faced, the most on Osprey pitcher has recorded since March of last year.Â
