
Men's Golf Alum Felipe Aguilar Set to Tee Off in Olympic Golf

RIO, Brazil -- Former North Florida men's golfer Felipe Aguilar will represent his home country of Chile beginning Thursday in opening round play of Olympic Golf at the Olympic Golf Course.
Aguilar will be paired with Danny Chia (Malaysia) and Soren Kjeldsen (Denmark) in rounds one and two of the event. He is scheduled to tee off at 7:25 a.m. on Thursday and 9:25 a.m. on Friday. Tee times and pairings for rounds three and four will be determined by scores like a regular PGA Tour event.
A letterwinning member of the UNF men's golf program from 1997-99, Aguilar was named an NCAA Division II All-American in 1997 while also claiming Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year and first-team All-Conference accolades that season.
Golf is making its return to the Olympics for the first time since 1904. Medals will be presented to the top three finishers after 72 holes of play.The Olympic Golf field features 60 golfers representing 34 different countries.
