JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida (33-17, 11-6 A-Sun) secured its fourth-straight Atlantic Sun series victory with a 10-3 decision against USC Upstate (20-27, 3-13 A-Sun) this afternoon at Harmon Stadium. On Senior Day, the Ospreys established a new D-1 era school record with their 25th win at home.

For the second-straight day, North Florida received an outstanding starting pitching performance, this time from the left arm of Austin Drury. The freshman cruised through the first six innings, allowing just one hit while striking out three. After giving up his first hit in the third inning, he went on to retire the next nine batters. He finished the day with 86 pitches, allowed two earned runs and struck out four. He moves into a tie for the team lead with his fifth win of 2016.

Four-run rallies in the third and the seventh innings defined the Osprey offense that produced 16 more hits on top of the 18 in Friday night's contest. North Florida jumped out to a commanding, 6-0 lead after the first six innings.

Senior Kyle Brooks put forth his second four-hit day this week from his lead-off position. He finished 4-for-5 with a run scored. Making his first start since April 20th, freshman Dalton Board had his best game of his young collegiate career. He went 4-for-4 with his first home run, two runs scored and two RBIs.

Senior Nick Karmeris continued his torrent hitting pace, recording his sixth-straight multi-hit game and his team-leading 21st of the season. He cracked his 10th home run of the season in the fifth inning and produced a 2-for-4 performance at the plate. He scored three times and now has crossed the plate five times in two games against the Spartans. His batting average has raised 41 points in the last seven games.
Junior Chris Thibideau started the second of the four-run rallies in the seventh with a two-run single that scored Corbin Olmstead and Keith Skinner. Thibideau finished the day 3-for-4 with three RBIs on the day. Skinner reached base four times and collected season hit numbers 67 & 68. The run for Olmstead was the 40th scored in 2016, good for third most on the team.HOME RUN!!! After Upstate got a two-out, two RBI single from Brendan Brundage in the seventh, Matthew Naylor came on in relief of Drury. The redshirt junior made his team-leading 27th appearance of the season and recorded the final out of the seventh as well as the first two of the eighth. Freshman Frank German recorded the final four outs for the Ospreys on the mound.

The Ospreys will go for their eighth-straight win against USC Upstate on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. North Florida will send Adam Polansky (1-0) to the mound and he will be opposed by Upstate two-way player Cody Brittain (2-1).
