JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida will travel across town for a three-game series against Jacksonville (17-11, 0-0 A-Sun) beginning Friday night at John Sessions Stadium. Friday and Saturday's game will be carried live on ESPN3/WatchESPN app and all three can be heard on 1010XL.

Series Info

This will be the second meeting this season as the Ospreys retained the second annual Mayor's Cup with a 10-6 victory at home on March 2.
Friday will be the 59^th meeting between the Ospreys and Dolphins with Jacksonville holding a 33-25 edge in the all-time series that began in 1988.
Under Smoke Laval, the Ospreys are 12-7 against Jacksonville and have won their last four meetings, tied for the longest win streak for UNF in the series' 28-year history.
The Ospreys are 19-16 against the Dolphins since 2006. North Florida has won six of the 10 series since the two joined the Atlantic Sun.
At John Sessions Stadium, each team has won 11 games and the Ospreys have won five of the last six at Jacksonville including a sweep in the 2013 series.
Smoke Laval, a 1977 graduate of Jacksonville, will be honored along with his 1976 teammates prior to Saturday's game. The team is regarded as one of the best ever at Jacksonville and won a school-record 45 games. They finished 9^th in the final Collegiate Baseball Poll and took two games against Florida State before falling to Auburn in the NCAA South Regional Final.
Last season, Laval earned his 600^th career victory in an April 18^th game against his alma mater.

With Wednesday's dramatic win over Florida A&M, the Ospreys have come-from-behind in 10 of their 19 wins this season.
As a team, the Ospreys lead the A-Sun in batting average (.308), scoring (7.2 rpg), runs (222), hits (338), home runs (30) and slugging % (.444).
The Ospreys matched a season-high with four home runs against Florida A&M on Wednesday.
When hitting two or more home runs in a game, the Ospreys are unblemished at 9-0.

Right fielder Nick Karmeris lead the team with eight outfield assists, only the fifth Osprey since 2001 to record eight or more assists in a season.
Karmeris had a season-high, three hits including his sixth home run on Wednesday. He has recorded an RBI in six-straight games.

On the Mound

The Ospreys bullpen is 12-5 and boasts a 2.79 ERA.
Reliever Matthew Naylor has pitched in the last five games for the Ospreys. He is tied for second in the A-Sun and is 16^th in the nation with 17 appearances.
Senior Corbin Olmstead earned his 11^th career victory on Wednesday night. He is tied with Naylor for eighth on the school's D-1 era Wins list.
Alex Smith put forth his longest outing of his career (3.2 IP) and earned his first victory of the season on Tuesday against Bethune-Cookman. He has yet to surrender an earned run in 10.2 innings this season
Junior Bryan Baker's 2.14 ERA is the lowest in the Atlantic Sun and his 44 strikeouts are the third most in the league.

In the Field

The Ospreys matched a season-high with three double plays turned against Bethune on Tuesday.
North Florida's 34 double plays are the fifth most in the country, trailing national leader Georgia Tech by nine.
Tuesday's game against Bethune was the ninth time the Ospreys didn't commit an error. They are third in the league with a .969 fielding percentage
