GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The North Florida track and field teams continue the outdoor season Friday in the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational at UF's Percy Beard Track.
The Osprey men's and women's squads will have athletes competing in a couple field events along with several sprints and middle-distance races. UNF is beginning to round into shape for the upcoming Atlantic Sun Conference Championship on May 13-14 in Jacksonville.
"We are looking forward to  a great competition in Gainesville on Friday," said head coach Jeff Pigg. "The Tom Jones meet has traditionally been a great meet with world class competition in several of the events. The high level of competition will hopefully help push our UNF athletes to great performances. Standout high jumper Bobby Harris and our 10,000 meter runners along with a few others will be taking the weekend off to focus on training and in some cases prepare for semester finals at UNF next week. In addition, Nick Morken, Tyler Stahl and Fynn Timm will all run events other than their specialties. Nick and Tyler will run the 800m while Fynn will be in the 1500m along with Logan Poteet, last week's winner in the 5000m at FSU."Â
Competition at the Tom Jones is set to start at 11 a.m. for field events and running events kicking off at 1 p.m.
