Ospreys competed at Florida Relays & Spikes Classic
JACKSONVILLE -- With athletes competing at a pair of in-state meets, the North Florida men's track team rounded out a record-setting weekend of performances with a school-record by sophomore Bobby Harris in the high jump on Saturday.
Already the program record holder in the event, Harris bettered his top mark and eclipsed the 7-foot level for the first time in program history after clearing a height of 2.15m (7-00.50) at the Florida Relays in Gainesville.
At the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic in Daytona Beach, freshman Chris Robin clocked a personal best 1:51.42 in winning the 800m. Senior Desmond Robb collected a pair of third-place sprint finishes, running a time of 22.66 in the 200m and a 48.76 in the 400m.
The men's track and field team will take a weekend off from competition before returning to the track at a pair of events on Apr. 15-17. UNF will send athletes to both the Seminole Invitational in Tallahassee (Apr. 15-16) and the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. (Apr. 16-17).
