KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- The North Florida women's golf team took advantage of moving day at the 2016 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship vaulting to the top of the leaderboard following a second round 294, Monday at Reunion Golf Resort's Tom Watson Course. UNF's lineup features three of the top five players in the medalist competition.
UNF's Monday team score is the second-best in program history in the event, trailing only last year's final round total of 292. The Ospreys head into the final round with a two-day total of 592, one shot ahead of Florida Gulf Coast (593). This marks the first time in the program's four-year history that North Florida has held the lead in the conference championship and is just the third tournament lead all-time for the Ospreys, who claimed their first team crown earlier this season.
A trio of Ospreys sit in the top-five of the player leaderboard with senior Mary Dawson in second place following a one-over par 73 on Monday. At 145 (+1) for the championship, Dawson heads into Tuesday's final round alone in second place, while junior Megan Wilshire follows Dawson in third at 147 (+3) after a 75 in the second round. Senior Emelie Alpe jumped into a tie for fourth at 148 (+4) with her even par 72.

All five UNF players are listed in the Top 20 as senior Kelly Aylwin carded a two-over 74 on Monday to be tied for 14th at 153, and junior Nathalie Nygren posted a 76 to rank tied for 18th at 154.
Defending champion and round one leader Kennesaw State is in third behind the Ospreys and Eagles at 598 followed by Jacksonville (611), Stetson (613), Lipscomb (639) and USC Upstate (641). KSU's Clara Aveling remains in first place on the individual leaderboard as she added a one-under par 71 on day two for a 36-hole total of 141 (-3).

The final round of the 2016 A-Sun Women's Golf Championship begins Tuesday at 8 a.m. with teams once again starting on both sides of the course on No. 1 & No. 10. North Florida will play alongside FGCU and Kennesaw State beginning on the first hole.
