ORLANDO -- The North Florida women's golf team continued their solid play Sunday carding an opening round 298 to sit in second place in the 2016 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship being held at Reunion Golf Resort.
The Ospreys, who finished runner-up at last years event, are just four shots behind round one leader Kennesaw State at 294.
Senior Mary Dawson and junior Megan Wilshire both fired rounds of even-par 72 to lead the UNF lineup. The duo is tied for second in the individual medalist competition, only two shots behind Kennesaw State's Clara Aveling.

Senior Emelie Alpe joined her teammates in the Top 10, ranking tied for 10th following an opening round 76. Junior Nathalie Nygren is tied for 17th after a 78 while senior Kelly Aylwin rounded out the Osprey lineup with a 79 for a tie for 23rd.
FGCU is currently in third at 303, behind KSU and UNF, with Jacksonville fourth at 311 followed by Stetson (314), USC Upstate (319) and Lipscomb (322).

Tournament action continues at the Atlantic Sun Championship with second round play Monday beginning at 8 a.m. North Florida will play alongside Kennesaw State and FGCU starting on the first hole.Â
