JACKSONVILLE -- After hosting a successful home meet to open up the outdoor season, the North Florida Track & Field team is set to compete in a pair of in-state meets this weekend. UNF will send athletes to both the Florida Relays (Thursday-Saturday) in Gainesville and the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic (Friday-Saturday) in Daytona Beach.
A small group of athletes will participate in the prestigious Florida Relays with the group including ASun Track Athlete of the Week Nick Morken and Tyler Stahl in the 1,500m along with Eden Meyer (5,000m), Brad Hort (5,000m), Fynn Timm (3,000m Steeplechase) and Bobby Harris (High Jump). The remainder of the squad will take part in the ERAU Spikes Classic competing in a variety of running and field events.
"After a strong opener at the Spring Break Invitational, the team is excited and looking forward to being back in action," said head coach Jeff Pigg. "The Florida Relays is a high level meet that provides great competition and we are excited about the opportunities that it brings for our athletes that are competing in it. The Spikes Classic is also a very big meet that will provide many competitive opportunities for the rest of the Ospreys. This will be a good weekend of competition for our team."
Live results are available for both events and portions of Friday and Saturday's action at the Florida Relays will be televised on the SEC Network (Watch ESPN app).
