STATESBORO, Ga. -- Despite four golfers finishing with rounds of even par, the No.33-ranked North Florida men's golf team slipped to 10th place after second round action of the Schenkel Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club.
The Ospreys posted an even-par 288 on Saturday for a two-day total of 8-under par 568. The quartet of UNF linksters that carded rounds of 72 (E) in the second round included freshmen Andrew Alligood and Philip Knowles along with senior Taylor Hancock and sophomore Dillon Woods. Sophomore Jordan Batchelor rounded out the lineup with a 1-over 73, while freshman Travis Trace shot an 80 playing as an individual.
"Not sure I've ever had a coaching day where the team counted four scores at even par," said head coach Scott Schroeder. "Unfortunately, we gave away a bunch of scoring chances again today. The course continues to play easy but we are struggling on the greens. They are now very smooth. We just need to believe that if we keep hitting good putts that we will get a few more to go in tomorrow."

Alligood remained the Osprey's top ranked competitor in the individual standings sitting in a tie for 21st at 140. Knowles is tied for 26th (141) while Hancock is tied for 38th (143) followed by Batchelor tied for 51st (145) and Woods in a tie for 62nd (147).
No. 4-ranked Auburn and Georgia State share the team competition lead with 36-hole totals of 553. No. 10 Wake Forest and No. 15 Vanderbilt are tied for third at 554 while No. 19 North Carolina is in fifth (559) in the 14-team field. AU's Michael Johson tops the medalist standings with a two day total of 11-under 133.
Tournament action concludes Sunday with a final round of 18 holes. North Florida begins play at 9:42 a.m. from Hole 10 alongside Iowa and College of Charleston. Live scoring every three holes is available online at Golfstat.com
