@OspreySB Faces Stetson to open A-Sun Conference Play

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida Softball team will face Stetson this Saturday and Sunday at the UNF Softball Complex for their first Atlantic Sun Conference series this season.

The Ospreys (11-16) are coming off of a loss to 16th-ranked Tennessee, while Stetson (21-11) is coming off of a doubleheader split with Monmouth. North Florida had started their game against Monmouth on Thursday, but the game was cancelled after four innings due to rain.

The North Florida offense is led by freshman Navia Penrod and senior Shelby Duncan. Penrod ranks first on the team and 10th in the conference in batting average (.363). Duncan leads the team in slugging pct. (.506), doubles (10) and RBI (18). Duncan leads the conference in doubles.

The Ospreys pitching staff is led by juniors Logan Green and Katie Beth Gordon. Green leads the team and ranks third in the conference in innings pitched (91.2), while Gordon leads the team and ranks ninth in the conference in ERA (2.66).

Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled to begin at Noon, while Sunday's single game is set to begin at 1 p.m. Saturday's games will be streamed live on ASun.TV, while all three games will have live stats.
