
Men's Golf Closes Fall Tourney Slate in Hawaii

LAHAINA, Hawaii -- The No. 33-ranked North Florida men's golf team wraps up a successful fall tournament campaign this weekend with the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic at the Ka'anapali Golf Club Royal Ka'anapali Course (par 71 | 6,700 yards).
The Ospreys begin play in the three-day event Friday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. HST (2:30 p.m. EST). UNF will be teammed with Cal Stat Northridge, Houston and Loyola Marymount for the opening round of competition. All three rounds of the event will have an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
North Florida comes into the event following a season-best runner-up finish last week in the Quail Valley Intercollegiate (Oct. 24-25). Sophomore Philip Knowles led the way for UNF, collecting his first career medalist title after posting a 13-under 203.
UNF's will use the same lineup for the third consecutive tournament and fourth time in five events this season. Sophomore Andrew Alligood, the team leader in stroke average at 70.45, will be joined by Knowles (70.73), junior Dillon Woods (73.36), sophomore Travis Trace (73.73) and senior Osten Waite (76.22).
The field of the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic includes 24 teams featuring eight teams currently ranked in Golfstat's Top 50 highlighted by four Top 25 squads. No. 7 Oklahoma, the defending tournament champion, tops the list of ranked teams followed by No. 13 LSU, No. 15 Georgia, No. 24 Clemson, UNF, No. 37 Kansas, No. 39 South Carolina and No. 49 UNC Wilmington.
Live scoring for the event is available online at Golfstat.com. Following this event, North Florida will have three months off from competition before returning to the links on Feb. 6-7 in the Sea Best Invitational at TPC Sawgrass.

- In 2014, the Ospreys finished runner-up to Oregon with tournament scores of 269-300-274=843 (-9)
- Dillon Woods is in the only member of this year's lineup that also played in 2014 // Woods finished T29th at 6-over 219 (71-76-72)
