JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of North Florida women's tennis celebrated Senior Day with a 6-1 victory over USC Upstate on Saturday at the UNF Tennis Complex, clinching a spot in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament.
"I'm so proud of our four seniors; they have grown immensely over their time here and we will all miss them very much," said head coach Audra Cohen. "Taylor played well today and she is handling herself well on the court. Rebeca has developed into a vocal leader on the court. Esther had a tough one today, but in the big picture, today's loss was another lesson she needs to learn in her journey here. Marina was a rock today and I'm proud of how strong she's come back from spraining her ankle a few weeks ago."
Â
UNF picked up the doubles point behind 8-2 triumphs on both the No. 2 and No. 3 courts. Rebeca Pereira and Luise Intert earned the day's first doubles win by defeating Nona Ruppert and Nina Roell at No. 2 doubles.
