JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Quetzali Vazquez rallied to win a three-set match at No. 4 singles, providing University of North Florida women's tennis with the match-winning point to defeat Stetson 4-3 in a critical Atlantic Sun match at the UNF Tennis Complex. With the win, the Ospreys remain undefeated in Atlantic Sun play at 5-0, while Stetson drops to 4-1.

UNF gained a 1-0 advantage after capturing the doubles point. Vazquez and Marina Cunningham claimed an 8-3 win over Arijana Korac and Maja Salibasic on the No. 3 court. Rebeca Pereira and Luise Intert edged out Alizee Michaud and Ashley Dean in a tiebreak No. 2 doubles, using an 8-7 (3) victory to help UNF to the doubles point.

Stetson won the first two singles matches in order to take a 2-1 lead. Dean defeated Taylor Hollander at No. 3 singles, while Isabella Fernandez held on for a 6-2, 7-6 (2) No. 2 singles win over Michelle Valdez.

UNF quickly tied it up a 2-2 with Intert's 6-2, 6-3 triumph against Salibasic in the No. 6 spot. However, the Hatters regained a one-point lead with No. 74 Michaud narrowly defeating Esther Zuniga 6-4, 6-4 on the No. 1 court.

Cunningham clinched a critical match-tying point at No. 5 singles, fending off Eveline Lepinay 6-3, 7-5 to even the match at 3-3.

Vazquez came back to win her set against Carolina Meregalli on the No. 4 court. After Meregalli took the first set 6-3, Vazquez answered with a 6-3 second set in order to force a decisive third set. Vazquez stormed past Meregalli 6-1 in the final set.

UNF finishes Atlantic Sun play on Saturday at Florida Gulf Coast. Match time is set for 10 a.m., at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
