Biography

2014-15 (Senior): Earned All-Atlantic Sun Second-Team honors for both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles… earned the doubles All-Conference honor with partner Taylor Hollander… tallied a 19-12 overall singles mark, including 13-5 in dual matches… began the spring at No. 2 singles (7-2) before working way to No. 1 singles (6-3)… played on the No. 1 court for last 10 matches, including all Atlantic Sun matches… won eight completed matches in a row (Feb. 18-Mar. 20), all in two sets… named Player of the Week on Mar. 11… held on for a critical No. 2 singles 7-6 (4), 6-2 win over UCF’s Cortney Cesarini (Feb. 18) to start her winning streak… in the fall, advanced to Orange consolation finals at the 2014 Miami Invitational (Sept. 19-21)… had an outstanding doubles season, compiling a 20-11 overall record… teamed with Quetzali Vazquez for much of doubles, but finished the season with Taylor Hollander… went 14-7 with Vazquez, including 6-2 at No. 3 doubles… teamed with Vazquez to win the Doubles B title at the Mercer Bear Gridiron Classic (Sept. 12-14) as well as advance to the Green doubles consolation finals at the 2014 Miami Invitational (Sept. 19-21)… went 6-4 with Hollander at No. 1 doubles, including a 3-1 Atlantic Sun record.

2013-14 (Junior): Had an impressive first year with the Ospreys… went 10-8 overall in singles play and had an 8-0 mark in Atlantic Sun matches… her eight conference victories were the most in the Atlantic Sun… earned Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honors on Apr. 2… played majority of dual matches at No. 2 (6-8)… also saw time on the No. 3 court (4-0)… concluded the regular season on a four-match winning streak… faced two nationally ranked opponents during the season in No. 112 Brigit Folland of No. 33 South Carolina (Feb. 21) and No. 62 Romy Koelzer from No. 14 Clemson (Mar. 24)... recorded a 9-6 doubles record, splitting time between No. 2 (4-2) and No. 3 (5-4)… ended the regular season with four-straight victories at No. 3 doubles with partner Mariella Calderon.

Prior to UNF: 
Competed for Florida State College of Jacksonville… helped the team to a record-high fourth-place finish at the 2013 NJCAA Women’s Team Championships… claimed the school’s first ever NJCAA national singles title and ended the season as the No. 1 women’s tennis player in the NJCAA ITA College Tennis Rankings

Personal: Majoring in business management… daughter of Lesbia Samara and Henry Zuniga… has two sisters, Yahaira and Darling.
