ATHENS, Ga. – The North Florida women's swim team had seven swimmers qualify for evening finals on the third day of the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Associations Championships. The Ospreys currently sit in 8th place with 239 points.

Each evening session qualifier dropped time off their performances from earlier in the season. Junior Amy Taylor was the highest finisher on the day for the Ospreys. The distance freestyler, placed 13th in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.82. Her two swims today were both the best of the season.

Including Taylor, the 200 free featured four Ospreys. Rebeca Bernard, Maria Bernard and Taylor Schmidinger finished 22nd, 23rd, 24th respectively in the event. Rebeca Bernard and Maria Bernard dropped time in the finals from their prelim times touch the wall with times of 1:55.28 and 1:55.56 respectively. Taylor, the first-year swimmer turned in her best time of her young career in prelims with a time of 1:56.67.

Senior Natalie McCallum was the lone qualifier for the Ospreys in the 100 breaststroke. She swam a season-best time of 1:06.39 in the finals, good for 17th place. She shaved nearly a second off her morning prelim time.

In the day's final event, Angel Morrison, McCallum, Lissa Janowicz and Taylor placed eighth in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:57.68.

The CCSA Championships concludes tomorrow at the University of Georgia with the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 400 freestyle relay and the 1650 freestyle.
