JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida Softball team takes on FAMU in their second of three matchups this season on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at the UNF Softball Complex.
Â
The Ospreys (7-2) split their four home tournament games this past weekend, defeating Maine and James Madison, then falling to Virginia Tech and Jacksonville State.
Â
North Florida previously defeated FAMU 7-6 in a 10-inning tournament game on Feb. 7.
Â
"We are excited to be back in action on our home field tomorrow. We have been playing really well but were left sitting on a disappointing loss from Saturday night," said coach Marcie Hickey. "Our goal is to stay focused on the process and play all out for 7 innings."
Â
The Ospreys feature three pitchers with ERA's under 1.50. Seniors Kayla Goff and Kaylie Wallace both have two complete-game shutouts this season, while junior Janet Snipe boasts a 1.31 ERA in her first season with North Florida.
Â
The lineup is led by junior Stacy McClelland, who is batting .417 with three home runs and 12 RBIs, along with a slugging percentage of .722. McClelland had the lone hit, a solo home run, in a 1-0 win over James Madison last Friday.Â
