#WGolf Finishes T-14th After Solid Final Round

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The North Florida women's golf team shot their lowest round of the season in the final day of the UNCG Forest Oaks Fall Classic finishing tied for 14th on Tuesday.
The Ospreys carded a score of 300 to finish in a 54-hole tie at 934 with Appalachian State. Junior Emelie Alpe and sophmore Nathalie Nygren led the final round surge as the duo each fired rounds of 1-over 73.
Freshman Meghan Bennett, making her collegiate debut in the event, was UNF's top performer earning a tie for 27th at 229 including a final round 76. Nygren finished tied for 29th at 230 while Alpe was tied for 54th at 237. Sophomore Megan Wilshire, who made her Osprey debut, finished 72nd at 242 following a 78 on Tuesday with junior newcomer Mary Dawson rounding out the lineup with a final round 79 to finish tied for 73rd at 243.
Elon captured the team title in the 18-team field posting a three round total of 899, six shots ahead of runner-up Rollins (905). Jacksonville finished third at 908 followed by Maryland (909), UNC Wilmington (910), High Point (912), James Madison (917), Charleston Southern (917), Mercer (919), UNC Greensboro (920), Winthrop (926), Gardner-Webb (933), Cincinnati (933), UNF and ASU, Radford (939), Longwood (943) and Presbyterian (991).
Mercer's Katy Harris claimed the individual medalist crown after finishing as the only player under par at 1-under 215.
North Florida will take 10 days off from competition before closing their fall schedule with back-to-back events on Oct. 10-12 (LPGA-Xavier Invitational) and Oct. 14-15 (Courtyard Classic).
