
Busy Spring Continues for #MGolf at Linger Longer

GREENSBORO, Ga. –For the second consecutive weekend, the No. 47-ranked North Florida men's golf team competes against some of the nation's top squads playing in the Linger Longer invitational at Great Waters Golf Course.
The Ospreys posted a ninth place finish last weekend at the Schenkel Invitational. UNF carded a season best round on day two of the event while seeing junior All-American MJ Maguire posted his third top five finish of the year.
Maguire will be joined in the UNF lineup at the Linger Longer by fellow junior Joey Petronio, sophomores Taylor Hancock and Austin Padova and redshirt freshman Osten Waite.
"We have a great opportunity to play against some good programs," said UNF head coach Scott Schroeder. "The team has enjoyed a great week of practice and preparation. We look forward to finishing strong the remainder of the spring season."
The Linger Longer is a two-day, 54-hole event co-hosted by Kennesaw State and Mercer. Saturday's first day of competition features 36 holes of play followed by a final round of 18 holes on Sunday.
In addition to the trio of Atlantic Sun squads, other teams competing this weekend include No. 1 Alabama, No. 5 Georgia, Charlotte, Chattanooga, No. 26 Clemson, Furman, No. 41 Liberty, Michigan State, No. 15 Oklahoma, South Alabama, Southern Miss and Yale.
Day one play begins Saturday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. North Florida will be paired with Chattanooga, Michigan State and South Alabama on holes 10-13.
