STATESBORO, Ga. - The Ospreys will look to ride the momentum built this weekend at the Georgia Bulldog Classic where North Florida came away with a pair of victories. Tuesday night's game will be the final game of a seven-game road swing for Head Coach Smoke Laval's club.

About the Eagles: The only common opponent this season between UNF and Georgia Southern is Georgia. The Eagles took two out of three from the Bulldogs in Athens at the beginning of the season. The Eagles are currently riding a seven-game win streak coming into Tuesday's contest. On offense, Georgia Southern has five players that have recorded 20 or more hits and are batting .345 as a team. The squad has been equally as good on the mound, posting a 2.58 team ERA and 141 strikeouts as a unit.
Weekend-ending Walk-Off: In the final game of the three-day Georgia Bulldog Invitational, the Ospreys prevailed, 4-3 in the 12th inning to defeat Buffalo on Sunday. Junior Alex Bacon led off the 12th and final inning with a solo homer over the deep left field wall of Foley Field. The Bulls rallied to score three runs in the top of the ninth inning to take a 3-2 lead. A sacrifice fly by Corbin Olmstead broght in Drew Weeks for the tying run in the bottom of the ninth, sending the game to extra innings.
Near No-No: Senior Tyler Moore was three outs away from North Florida Baseball history as he took a no-hitter into the top of the ninth against Buffalo on Sunday. He allowed only three baserunners through eight innings and none of them reached second base. He struck out five batters and forced 15 fly ball outs in the no decision. The Ospreys have thrown three no-hitters in the program's 26-year history. The last was by Danny Clark on March 30, 1990.
Bulldog Invitational Recap: The Ospreys came away with two victories this past weekend, defeating Western Carolina, 4-2 in 10 innings on Friday and Buffalo, 4-3 in 12 innings on Sunday. Western Carolina has wins this season over then No. 2 Missisippi State and then No. 15 Clemson. Buffalo came into the weekend as one of the more dangerous offenses in the country and were limited to just one-hit over the first 27 batters. Tournament host, Georgia held the North Florida bats scoreless over the final six innings to come away with a 4-3 win on Saturday afternoon.
Recent History: North Florida won both meetings last year including a 5-4, 11-inning win over the Eagles at Harmon Stadium. The Ospreys have taken seven of the last eight matchups against Georgia Southern with the last Eagle win coming on March 4, 2012.
Playing to the Crowd: Georgia Southern has played 13 of its 16 games at J.I. Clements Stadium this season. The Eagles currently boast a 12-1 record playing at home in 2014, suffering their only loss to Ohio back on February 28th.
Extra, Extra: The Ospreys played their first two extra inning games of the season this past weekend and won both contests. Last season the Ospreys were 6-3 in games that went more than nine innings.
League Leaders: The Ospreys have been solid defensively this season, committing a league-low 12 errors the season. North Florida has a Atlantic Sun best .961 fielding percentage. The Ospreys have a total have three errors in the last eight games.
Dialing Long Distance: Alex Bacon went deep in back-to-back games this weekend, hitting his 18th and 19th career home runs. He is now tied for sixth with T.J. Thompson for the most by an Osprey since North Florida reclassified to Division I in 2006. Bacon had himself a great weekend, going 4-for-12 with two home runs and four RBIs.
