No. 27 LSU Outlasts #MTEN 4-0

BATON ROUGE, La. -- The University of North Florida men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 27 LSU on Saturday afternoon at the W.T. Robinson Tennis Stadium. Â
"LSU played excellent today and we played tough almost the entire time," said head coach Mark Finnegan. "We have another exciting match against Tulane tomorrow and the guys couldn't be more excited. As much as we hate losing, we got better in many aspects today."
In doubles, the Ospreys stumbled early as Zach Goldberg and Pablo Tellez fell to Andrew Korinek and Justin Butsch 6-0 at the No. 3 spot. Norbert Nemcsek and Jack Findel-Hawkins attempted to tie up the score but fell in a tiebreaker to No. 60 Boris Arias and Chris Simpson 6-5 (7-3).
In singles, LSU claimed wins at the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 spots to give the Tigers the victory. In the No. 1 spot, Caio Gomes fell to No. 72 Simpson 6-3, 6-3. Nemcsek put up a fight, but was defeated 6-4, 6-2 by Korinek. Yannick Zuern dropped a 6-0, 6-1 match to Arias at No. 4 singles.
Tellez split sets with Harrison Kennedy at the No. 5 spot when the match was called.
The Ospreys conclude their road trip at Tulane in New Orleans on Sunday at the City Park Pepsi Center at 2 p.m. EST/ 1 p.m. CST.
