JACKSONVILLE, Fla.— The University of North Florida men's tennis team clinched the doubles point early, but fell 4-3 to Winthrop on Friday afternoon at the UNF Tennis Complex.

The Ospreys clinched the doubles point at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. At the No. 1 spot, No. 38 Jack Findel-Hawkins and Norbert Nemcsek defeated Peter Nagovnak and Dylan Comerford 8-7 (9-7). No. 50 Caio Gomes and Yannick Zuern downed Tremayne Mitchell and Steven Patrick 8-7 (7-5) at the No. 2 position.

UNF was victorious at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Findel-Hawkins made quick work of Yuta Hirokawa 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. At the No. 2 position, Gomes added the other singles point by grabbing a 6-1, 7-5 win over Patrick.

The Ospreys hit the road to open Atlantic Sun Conference play against Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday, March 2 at Noon at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
