ATLANTA, Ga. – University of North Florida women's tennis will have six singles and two doubles teams competing at this weekend's four-day 2014 USTA/ITA Southeast Regional Championships held Friday-Monday at Georgia Tech's Ken Byers Tennis Complex.

"Regionals is a great event for us to gain more experience at playing high-level matches," said head coach Audra Cohen. "The Southeast Region has traditionally been one of the toughest regions in the nation, so we have a great opportunity to play fearless tennis against some of the best players in the nation."

Sixteen schools are scheduled to play in this weekend's tournament and include Florida, Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, FIU, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State, Miami, Stetson, UCF, UNF and USF.

The tournament begins with doubles competition on Friday. Two pairs are in the Main Draw, while one duo is in the B Doubles Draw. Esther Zuniga and Quetzali Vazquez begin the Ospreys' competition with an 8 a.m., Main Draw match against Georgia's Caroline Brinson and Laura Patterson. Also in the Main Draw are Marina Cunningham and Taylor Hollander with an 8:45 a.m., match against Florida Gulf Coast's Sarah Means and Elizabeth Means.

In the B Doubles Draw, Luise Intert and Michelle Valdez play Florida Atlantic's Lyndsey Boos and Bianca Biglione at 8:45 a.m.

In singles, three Ospreys are in the Main Draw, while three others are in the B Draw. Cunningham, Hollander and Zuniga will represent UNF in the Main Draw. All of their matches are scheduled for 11 a.m., on Friday. Cunningham faces Florida State's Daniela Schippers, while Hollander takes on No. 13 seeded Belinda Woolcock from Florida. Zuniga plays Georgia's Mariana Gould.

By earning the No. 2 seed in the B Singles Draw, Vazquez automatically advances into Saturday's Round of 16. Meanwhile, both Valdez and Intert play at 2 p.m., in the Round of 32. Valdez goes up against No. 8 seeded Elizabeth Means. Intert faces Kennesaw State's Cristina Perez de la Toree Martin.
