HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -- The North Florida basketball team concludes its first Atlantic Sun Conference road trip of the year, Monday at 7 p.m. against Northern Kentucky in the Bank of Kentucky Center.
The Ospreys (9-7, 3-0 ASun) look to extend their current four-game win streak following a 78-73 victory at Lipscomb on Saturday afternoon. The Norse (6-9, 2-1) rallied for a late-game victory over Jacksonville on Saturday and have now won two straight and five of their last seven.
Against Lipscomb, sophomore Beau Beech netted a career high scoring 19 points including five three-pointers. Senior Travis Wallace finished with 17 points and a team-best eight rebounds, and moved within four points of the 1,000-point mark for his UNF career. In addition, freshman Dallas Moore scored 14 of his 16 points in a decisive second half performance.
Jordan Jackson leads the NKU squad in scoring at 14.5 points per game and is second in rebounds at 4.5 per game. The Norse have played close games with all three of their Atlantic Sun contest this year decided by seven points or less.
Monday's game marks the third all-time meeting between UNF and NKU with the Norse having claimed the first two match-ups in the series. In the Osprey's only previous visit to the BOK, Northern Kentucky handed them a 72-45 defeat. The Norse are the only conference team that UNF does not own a victory against.
UNF fans can follow game action in a variety of ways including over the airwaves with the "Voice of the Ospreys", Robert Harper, on 1010 XL (AM)/92.5 FM in Jacksonville or the online broadcast at 1010xl.com. Additionally, live stats are available on Northern Kentucky's athletic website (NKUNorse.com) and live feeds via Twitter can be seen by following @OspreyMBB. The game will also be webcast for free on ASun.TV.
Following the NKU game, North Florida returns home to tipoff a three-game home stand beginning Thursday against Florida Gulf Coast at 7 p.m. in UNF Arena.
