JACKSONVILLE – After playing back-to-back road games, the North Florida basketball team returns home for a weekend home stand beginning Thursday at 7:30 p.m., in a rematch against Northern Kentucky.
The Ospreys (11-11, 5-4 ASun) are in third-place in the Atlantic Sun standings after completing play in the first half of their league schedule. UNF has won two straight at home, but look to get back on the winning track after dropping a pair of games at ETSU and USC Upstate last weekend.
Freshman Dallas Moore continues to lead the team in scoring averaging 12.6 points per game, while senior Travis Wallace is second at 12.0 and ranks among the league leaders in rebounding with 7.5 per contest. Moore connected on four three-pointers as part of an 18-point performance to lead UNF in their last outing.
As a team in conference play, North Florida is the league's top scoring (78.2 ppg) and rebounding (38.2 rpg) squad.
NKU enters Thursday's tilt at 8-13 overall and 4-5 in conference action. The Norse have lost four of their last five contests including a 75-74 loss to Lipscomb last Friday night. Northern Kentucky, who has dropped its last two road games, is led by Jordan Jackson's 14.8 points per game.
The game marks the 4th all-time meeting between UNF and NKU with the Norse having claimed each of the first three meetings. The two squads met earlier this month (Jan. 6) at Northern Kentucky with NKU outlasting the Ospreys for a 70-64 victory.
