Dale Leads Ospreys at Gary Koch Golf Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. -- Senior Sean Dale capped off his stellar spring season Tuesday firing a final round five-under 67 to place third in the Gary Koch Invitational held at Old Memorial Golf Club.
Dale posted a three-round total of 208 (-8) in helping the Ospreys to a seventh place team finish in the 14-team field. Dale has finished in the Top 15 in all five UNF spring events including a trio of top three showings.
No. 19 ranked North Florida carded a final round 294 to finish with a 54-hole total of 877.
"Sean had another great round today," said UNF head coach Scott Schroeder. "This was a strong way for him to finish the regular season. As a whole, we played average as a team. We have two weeks before the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship and we need to take this time to get focused and prepared for the postseason."
Joining Dale in the Top 25 was sophomore Joey Petronio, who finished tied for 23rd at 219 after a final round 74. The freshmen duo of Austin Padova and Taylor Hancock both tied for 53rd at 228 while senior Kevin Phelan rounded out the Osprey lineup in a tie for 59th at 231.
No. 18 Florida State finished with a three-round tally of 841 in claiming the team championship by seven strokes over No. 8 Georgia Tech (848). No. 20 Auburn was third at 860 followed by No. 9 Florida (866), No. 26 Wake Forest (873), College of Charleston (875), UNF, Kentucky (886), South Florida (889), No. 50 Georgia Southern (895), Ohio State (904), UNC Greensboro (904), Pacific (905) and Jacksonville (905).
FSU's Rowin Caron and Bo Andrews of Georgia Tech shared the medalist honors with matching scores of 207 (-9).
North Florida next begins defense of its Atlantic Sun Conference Championship on Apr. 21-23 in Braselton, Ga.
