Ospreys Set to Defend ASun Sand Volleyball Crown

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The North Florida Sand Volleyball team opens defense of its Atlantic Sun Conference crown Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Dolphin Beach Volleyball Complex.
The Ospreys (13-3) claimed the Atlantic Sun regular season title with a perfect 8-0 record this season and are the No. 1 seed at this weekend's tournament being held on the campus of rival Jacksonville.
UNF will face the winner of the event's opening match between Florida Gulf Coast and Mercer. With a victory, North Florida would advance to Sunday's semifinal at 9 a.m. versus the winner of the Stetson-Jacksonville match.
The winner of the double-elimination contest, excluding the championship match, will earn the first automatic qualifying bid to the AVCA National Sand Championships on May 3-5 in Gulf Shores, Ala.
Atlantic Sun Championship action is free and open to the public. In addition, ASun.TV will be showing all Court 1 matches free online. North Florida fans can also keep up with the action by following @OspreyVB on Twitter.
