Ospreys Drop Thriller to ULM on Sand

SIESTA KEY, Fla. - The North Florida sand volleyball team dropped a tightly-contested 3-2 dual match decision to UL-Monroe Friday afternoon in advance of play at the Fiesta on Siesta Tournament.

The contest was rematch of the team's season-opening contest which UNF captured by a 4-1 score.

The Ospreys (13-3) earned straight-game victories at the No. 3 and 5 positions while the Warhawks posted sweeps at No. 1 and 2 setting up a deciding battle at No. 4.

ULM's Kylie Parks and Blanca Ocana outlasted UNF's Britt Claessens and Julie Trembley for a 2-1 (18-21, 21-18, 15-12) win to secure the victory. The loss was the first of the season for the Osprey duo.

North Florida will now participate in the Fiesta on Siesta event on Saturday and Sunday. The event features 13 NCAA Division I sand programs competing in both a team and flighted pairs tournament.
