JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The North Florida men's golf team wraps up its fall tournament schedule Monday and Tuesday at the Eagle/Osprey Collegiate at Deerwood Country Club.
The event, cohosted by UNF and Georgia Southern, features a 15-team field with tournament action scheduled for 36 holes of play Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Deerwood CC will play at a par 72, 7,223-yard layout.
This year marks the sixth year of existence for the tournament, formerly known as the Mizuno Savannah Intercollegiate and the Amelia Island Intercollegiate. The Ospreys swept the team and medalist titles the last time the event was held in 2011.
Junior All-American MJ Maguire leads the charge for UNF in the fall finale bringing in a team-best 72.44 stroke average. Maguire has finished in the Top 25 in all three events this year including back-to-back Top 20 showings.
Maguire will be joined by fellow juniors Joey Petronio (73.67) and Parker Jones (76.33), senior Taylor Johnson (74.33) and sophomore Austin Padova (74.67). In addition, sophmore Taylor Hancock and redshirt freshman Osten Waite will compete in the event as individuals.
Joining the Ospreys and Eagles in the tournament field include FGCU, Francis Marion, Furman, GRU Augusta, Jacksonville, Lipscomb, Loyola (Md.), Mercer, Southern Mississippi, Southeastern Louisiana, Troy, Tulsa and Vanderbilt.
The Eagle/Osprey Collegiate is free and open to the public.
