#MGOLF Earns Top 10 Finish at Isleworth Invitational

WINDERMERE, Fla. -- The North Florida men's golf team carded a final round 301 en route to finishing ninth in the prestigious Isleworth Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday.
The Ospreys posted a three-day total of 882 against a nationally-ranked field of teams ranked in the Top 50. Junior All-American MJ Maguire led the way for UNF earning a tie for 18th with a two-over-par 218.
Sophomore Taylor Hancock was the squad's top performer in the final round shooting his second consecutive round of 74 (+2). Hancock finished the event tied for 55th at 227.
On the final day, Maguire and fellow junior Joey Petronio each posted rounds of 75 while sophomore Austin Padova finished with a 77 and redshirt freshman Osten Waite had an 84. Petronio finished in a tie for 28th at 220, while Padova earned a 35th-place tie at 221. Waite rounded out the UNF lineup finishing in 69th place at 233.
Top-ranked and defending national champion Alabama led the event wire-to-wire, claiming the team title with a 54-hole score of 838. No. 16 UCF was second at 850 followed by No. 4 California (859), No. 29 Florida State (868), No. 6 Illinois (869), No. 23 Vanderbilt (875), No. 15 Texas (877), No. 47 UNLV (879), UNF, No. 34 LSU (884), No. 18 Arkansas (889), No. 11 New Mexico (892), No. 35 Texas Tech (894), No. 31 GRU Augusta (895) and No. 48 TCU (896).
Bama's Trey Mullinax captured the individual medalist crown with a three-round score of 205 (-11).
North Florida will conclude its fall tournament schedule at the Osprey Eagle Invitational on Nov. 4-5 at Deerwood Country Club in Jacksonville.
