
No. 58 Men's Tennis Closes Regular Season With 6-1 Win at Mercer

MACON, Ga. – No. 58 University of North Florida men's tennis ended the regular season with a 6-1 win at Mercer on Saturday.
UNF began the day with a doubles sweep. Daniel Sotomarino and Norbert Nemcsek posted a 9-7 win over Victor Dias and David Barton at No. 1 doubles. Beauregard Treyz and Julien Belair took an 8-7 No. 2 win against Vincent DeLise and Joao Pagan. Pedro Davisson and Leonardo Nahar captured a 9-8 win over Pierre Tafelski and Peter Tauchner on the No. 3 court.
The Ospreys capture five of the six singles matches. Nemcsek took a 6-0, 7-6 win at No. 2 singles against Pagan, while Davisson held on for a 6-1, 5-7, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles against Tauchner. Nahar posted a 6-3, 6-2 win against Barton at No. 4 singles, while Treyz took a 7-5, 6-1 No. 5 singles win against DeLise. At No. 6 singles, Timo Kranz held on for a 7-5, 7-6 victory over Dias.
Mercer's only point came on the No. 1 court with Tafelski defeating Sotomarino 6-2, 7-6.
Postseason play begins for Ospreys next Saturday at the 2012 Atlantic Sun Men's Tennis Championships. As the No. 2 seed, UNF received a first-round bye and opens the tournament in the semfinals. UNF will face the winner of the No. 3 Stetson-No. 6 Florida Gulf Coast at 11 a.m.
