
Women's Tennis Returns Home Thursday Against Eastern Kentucky

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After taking it to the road last weekend, the University of North Florida women's tennis team returns to the UNF Tennis Complex for four of its next five matches beginning Thursday at Eastern Kentucky at 11 a.m.
Thursday's match will be just UNF's second home match of the season. The Ospreys, who come off a 7-0 loss at No. 10 Miami, are currently 1-0 on the season at home after defeating Charleston Southern 4-3 on Feb. 28. For the season, Lorena Aviles and Aline Berkenbrock have led the Ospreys at No. 1 doubles, holding a 4-1 record and riding a four-match winning streak.
Eastern Kentucky began the 2012 spring season by winning five of its first six matches. However the Colonels have dropped three of its last four, including a 4-3 loss at Embry-Riddle on Tuesday. Thursday's match for Eastern Kentucky will be its third in as many days with the Colonels also playing at Jacksonville on Wednesday. Eastern Kentucky has been dominant at No. 1 and No. 2 singles thus far. Amandine Faouzi holds a 7-2 record in the top spot, but Melissa Gerritesen (3-0) and Kristina Labeja (5-1) have combined for an 8-1 record at No. 2 singles.
