
Women's Tennis Faces Two Nationally Ranked Opponents This Weekend

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of North Florida women's tennis team takes to the road this weekend for two matches against tough opponents, facing No. 10 Miami on Saturday and then Division II's No. 2 Barry on Sunday.
The Ospreys are coming off a 4-3 win over Charleston Southern on Tuesday. UNF won the doubles point and then took three singles matches. Aline Berkenbrock was tabbed the Atlantic Sun's Player of the Week after winning at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. UNF enters the weekend with a 2-2 record, including 1-2 on the road. There is a UNF-Miami connection in head coach Audra Cohen, who completed her collegiate playing career at Miami, winning a the NCAA singles title as a junior.
Miami begins an eight-match homestand against UNF. The Hurricanes enter the weekend with a 5-1 record and are 2-0 in home matches this season. The only loss on Miami's schedule was a 4-0 sweep against then-No. 7 California on Feb. 10 at the ITA National Women's Indoor Championships in Charlottesville, Va. The Hurricanes have captured their last three matches, including a 5-2 win at Florida State on Feb. 26.
Barry is off to a 7-0 start and concludes a five-match homestand against UNF. The Buccaneers are ranked second-nationally in Division II and have five players nationally ranked in singles and one doubles team nationally ranked. Barry and UNF saw each other earlier this year when the Bucs took part in the UNF Invitational. UNF swept Barry in all five singles matches and both doubles matches during that tournament.
UNF's match against Miami is set for 11 a.m., on Saturday. The Ospreys also play at 11 a.m., on Sunday at Barry.
