STATESBORO, Ga. – The No. 14 ranked University of North Florida golf team returns to action this weekend beginning play Friday at the Schenkel Invitational.
The three-day, 54 hole event event features a 15 team field playing at Forest Heights Country Club (par 72). The Schenkel marks the Ospreys second tournament of the week with UNF having claimed the team title at the General Hackler Championship on Monday.
The Ospreys will be represented by juniors Sean Dale and Kevin Phelan, senior Kevin Aylwin and the freshman duo of Joey Petronio and MJ Maguire. Junior Pete Kellerman is participating in the event as an individual.
"This is a great event and an even better field," said UNF head coach Scott Schroeder. "We look forward to getting back into competition and we are excited about our opening round feature pairing with nationally ranked Florida and Auburn. It is a good opportunity for us to see how we stack up with some of the nation's top teams."
Following the Schenkel Invitational, North Florida closes the regular season Apr. 7-8 at the Gary Koch Invitational in Tampa, Fla. The Atlantic Sun Conference Championship is set for Apr. 16-18 in Braselton, Ga.
