
Men's Tennis Faces No. 42 South Alabama, No. 43 UNC Wilmington

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of North Florida men's tennis hosts two matches against nationally ranked opponents in as many days starting on Monday when the Ospreys welcome No. 42 South Alabama to the UNF Tennis Complex at 2 p.m. The Ospreys will then take on No. 43 UNC Wilmington on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
UNF has won its last three home matches, which includes a 7-0 sweep of Troy on Saturday. For the third time this season on Saturday, the Ospreys captured all three doubles matches to get the doubles point. UNF is currently 6-2 when it has won the doubles point and has captured that point in all of its wins for which the doubles was played. The doubles pair of Moritz Buerchner and Pedro Davisson enters Monday with a 5-0 mark in doubles play.
South Alabama begins a three-match Spring Break road swing on Monday. The Jaguars are winners of their last four, including a 4-3 win over then-No. 73 DePaul on Mar. 2 and a 4-2 win over No. 63 Middle Tennessee. South Alabama is most recently coming off a 4-1 win over Austin Peay on Mar. 8. The Jaguars hold a winning percentage of .500 and above in five of the six singles flights.
Both UNF and South Alabama competed in the fall's Seminole Invitational Sept. 30-Oct.2. The two schools met in the doubles competition with UNF winning twice. Daniel Sotomarino and Leonardo Nahar posted an 8-6 win over Daniel Leitner and Christian Kuehne. Beauregard Treyz and Julien Belair defeated Alex Bernard and Blake Gregor 8-5.
UNC Wilmington are winners of its last four, including wins over then-No. 21 NC State and then-No. 33 Memphis. UNC Wilmington's most recent win came on Sunday with the Seahawks edging out Binghamton 4-3 to conclude an eight-match homestand. Both Rafael Aita and Kosta Blank carry 9-2 singles records into Tuesday. Aita is currently ranked No. 64 in the nation.
