Men's Tennis Falls in Heartbreaker to USF

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of North Florida men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 match at USF on Friday. The Ospreys claimed the doubles point and took two of the singles matches.
 
To start the day, UNF claimed the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches. Julien Belair and Beauregard Treyz had an 8-5 victory over Wael Kilani and Lucas Marin Salced at No. 2 doubles. Then Moritz Buerchner and Pedro Davisson held on for a 9-7 win against Ravi Patel and Federico Sabogal at the No. 3 spot. Meanwhile, USF's Yannick Yoshizawa and Oliver Pramming defeated Daniel Sotomarino and Norbert Nemcsek 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.
 
In singles, Nemcsek and Leonardo Nahar both won their matches.  Nemcsek posted a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 3 singles against Juan Carlos Acuna. After falling 6-3 in the first set, Nahar came back to down Patel 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 6 spot.
 
At No. 1 singles, Yoshizawa had a three-set win over Buerchner, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (4), while Kilani defeated Sotomarino 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Sabogal won 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 against Belair at No. 4 singles and Salced defeated Graham Edgar 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 at No. 5.
 
UNF returns to action on Sunday when the Ospreys travel to No. 36 Miami.  Match time is set for 10 a.m.
