
Men's Tennis Soars to 6-1 Win Over Florida Atlantic

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of North Florida men's tennis swept doubles and won five of the six singles matches to claim a 6-1 victory over Florida Atlantic on Saturday at the UNF Tennis Complex.
To start the day, Norbert Nemcsek and Daniel Sotomarino posted an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles over Taylor Albrecht and Will Neuner. Beauregard Treyz and Julien Belair defeated Garrett Betsarakis and Boris Bogomolov 8-4 at No. 2. At No. 3, Moritz Buerchner and Pedro Davisson down Sean Bacha and Robert Dubuque 8-2.
In singles, Buerchner topped Albrecht at No. 1 7-5, 6-3, while Sotomarino posted a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 over Neuner. Belair cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Betsarakis at No. 4. Davisson had a 6-4, 6-2 win over Bacha at No. 5, while Treyz went 6-2, 6-2 over Dubuque at No. 6.
Florida Atlantic's only point came in the three-set match at No. 2 singles between Chris Janssen and Norbert Nemcsek. Janssen won the first set 6-3, but Nemcsek rallied in the second set with a 6-2 win to force a third set. However, Janssen won the third set 6-2.
The Ospreys return to action next weekend with a two-match road trip. UNF begins the trip at USF on Friday at 2 p.m.
