WINDERMERE, Fla. – The No. 41-ranked University of North Florida men's golf team closes out its fall tournament schedule this weekend at the prestigious Isleworth Collegiate Invitational held at Isleworth Golf and Country Club.
The three-day, 54-hole event begins play Sunday on the par 72, 7,544-yard layout of Isleworth. The field consists of 15 teams featuring 13 teams ranked in the top 50 nationally and eight of the Top 15 including No. 1 California and No. 2 Texas. North Florida earned a third-place finish at last year's event.
The Ospreys are coming off their best showing of the fall season after posting a third-place finish at the Brickyard Collegiate Championship on Oct. 5-7.
“We are looking forward to the trip down to Isleworth,” said UNF head coach Scott Schroeder. “It is a very special place and an extremely challenging golf course. This week will be a big challenge since the field features eight of the nation's top 15 teams. It will definitely have a better idea of how good we are at this point. It's a great way to finish our fall season.”
Senior Kevin Phelan leads the Osprey lineup that also includes sophomores MJ Maguire and Joey Petronio along with freshmen Taylor Hancock and Joe Stepnes.
