JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida basketball team closes its current three-game home stand Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. against Atlantic Sun Conference foe Lipscomb in UNF Arena. The men's game follows the UNF-Lipscomb women's game set for 5:30 p.m.
The Ospreys (7-8, 1-1 ASun) look to rebound from a tough loss on Monday night against Belmont that snapped a seven-game home win streak for UNF. Lipscomb (7-8, 2-1) snapped a four-game losing skid with a 77-71 win at Jacksonville on Monday.
Wednesday's game marks the 12th all-time meeting between UNF and Lipscomb on the hardwood. The Bison hold an 8-3 lead in the series but the Ospreys have won two of the last three meetings including a 72-62 victory the last time the pair met on Feb. 3, 2011 in UNF Arena.
At 10.9 points per game, Parker Smith leads the Ospreys in scoring followed by Jerron Granberry (10.1 ppg) as the only other double-digit scorer. Andy Diaz is third in scoring at 9.9 ppg and ranks second in rebounding with 4.7 per game. Travis Wallace is the squad's top rebounder pulling down 5.5 rpg along with scoring 9.5 points a contest.
The game features some of the Atlantic Sun's top three-pointer shooters with Lipscomb's Jordan Burgason connecting at 52 percent and Granberry making 43.8 percent of his long distance attempts. Burgason has made 38 treys this season to lead the league followed by Granberry with 35.
