NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The North Florida basketball team concludes its current four-game road swing Monday in a rematch against Atlantic Sun leading Belmont in the Curb Event Center at 7 p.m. (CT)
The Ospreys (11-12, 5-5 A-Sun) hope to earn their third consecutive win after handing Lipscomb a 71-59 defeat on Saturday night. Belmont (15-7, 8-2) has won two straight and sit atop the league standings along with Mercer.
Monday's game marks the 14th all-time meeting between UNF and Belmont on the hardwood. The Bruins own a 12-1 advantage in the series including a current five-game streak. North Florida's last and only win in the series was a 45-43 decision at UNF Arena on Jan. 14, 2010. Belmont earned an 83-53 win in the pairs first meeting this season in Jacksonville on Jan. 2.
Parker Smith, UNF's leading scorer at 12.7 points per game, is coming off a season-best 25 point outing against Lipscomb. Smith connected on a career-high 10 shots including four three-pointers in the game. Senior Matt Sauey posted his second career double-double on Saturday night finishing with 12 points and a personal best 14 rebounds.
Travis Wallace (11.3 ppg) and Jerron Granberry (10.1 ppg) are both averaging in double figures with Wallace also leading the team at 5.4 rebounds per contest.
