
No. 70 UNF Falls to Samford, 6-1

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of North Florida women's tennis team fell to Samford, 6-1 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at the Samford Tennis Center in Birmingham, Ala.
Junior Danielle Day picked up the lone point for the Ospreys (1-1) at the No. 1 singles, defeating Taylor Morgan in straight sets with scores of 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).
At the No. 4 as freshman Simona Weymar battled in a three set match against Kristin Lewis. The Samford player claimed the first set, 7-5, but Weymar came back in the second for a 6-1 win. In the final set the two went back and forth, but Lewis went on to secure the point with a 10-7 win.
UNF will remain in Birmingham, Ala. to face UAB. Match time is set for Noon (EST) at the Samford Tennis Center.
