Game Notes
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The North Florida basketball team brings a four-game win streak into a Sunday afternoon (1 p.m. CT) tilt against Kansas State in Bramlage Coliseum. The game will be televised live on FoxSports Midwest and ESPN3.
The Ospreys (5-4) begin a four-game road swing against the Wildcats (5-1), who are coming off their first loss of the season Thursday night against West Virginia.
Sunday's game marks the second straight year that UNF and KSU have met on the hardwood. Kansas State earned a 100-77 victory in last season's meeting on Dec. 31 in Manhattan. North Florida is also 0-4 all-time against teams from the Big XII Conference.
In last year's game, UNF's Parker Smith scored 25 points including hitting seven three pointers. K-State's Jamar Samuels led all scorers finishing with 26 points.
Andy Diaz leads the Ospreys in both scoring (10.8 ppg) and rebounding (5.8 rpg) and is coming off an 18-point, 9-rebound performance against Jacksonville. Smith (10.6 ppg) and Jerron Granberry (10.5 ppg) are also averaging in double digits for UNF.
The game will be a homecoming of sorts for Diaz, who's younger brother Adrian is a freshman on the KSU squad. Natives of Miami, the brothers will face off for the first time on the court in front of a group of family members.
In addition to the TV broadcast, fans can catch all the exciting action live on the radio on WBOB 600 AM, The Flagship Station of the UNF Sports Network, as well as online via the radio network link at www.wbobradio.com. Real-time live stats can be found on KSU's athletic website: www.kstatesports.com.
Following Sunday's contest, North Florida takes a few days off from competition before closing their pre-Christmas slate with a three-game road trip beginning Dec. 17 at Auburn. The trip also includes games at Virginia Tech (Dec. 19) and Florida A&M (Dec. 21).
