Volleyball Faces Bethune-Cookman in Final Non-Conference Tilt

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida volleyball team welcomes in-state foe Bethune-Cookman to UNF Arena for the team's final non-conference match of the season Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The Ospreys (11-14) are flying high on a three-match win streak including an emotional five-set victory over rival Jacksonville on Saturday night. UNF owns a perfect 3-0 mark this season in non-conference home contests.
Junior Paige Pridgeon is coming off a player-of-the-week caliber performance over the weekend having posted career high marks for kills (26) and digs (29) in the victory over JU. In addition, Pridgeon ranks fifth in the Atlantic Sun in kills at 3.41 per set.
As a team, UNF ranks third in the conference in blocking at 1.82 blocks per set. A trio of Osprey players are listed among the league's elite in blocking with Carolyn Jenkins ranked fourth (0.90 bps), Marija Pantovic 12th (0.75) and Dagnija Medina 16th (0.67).
Freshman setter Casey Giovanazzi is listed sixth in assists with 8.80 per set, while junior libero Nicole Baran ranks third in the Atlantic Sun with 4.39 digs per set.
Bethune-Cookman enters Tuesday's match at 9-14 overall and in the midst of a four-match losing skid. The Ospreys and Lady Wildcats squared off last Tuesday in Daytona Beach with UNF earning the 3-0 win. North Florida has won three straight over BCC and are 11-1 all-time in the series between the squads.
After facing Bethune, North Florida hits the road for a pair of matches beginning Friday at Mercer.
