
UNF Drops Final Exhibition Match

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The University of North Florida men's soccer team played Embry-Riddle in its final tune up for the 2010 season, falling 2-1 on the road on Sunday evening.
All of the scoring took place in the first half. Embry-Riddle's Ross Carmichael took a pass from teammate Ryan Woods for the first goal of the match catching the Ospreys off guard in the first minute of the match.
The tie did not last long as the host school used a goal in the 26th minute to take a 2-1 advantage. Woods once again factored into the goal, scoring a goal on a Sam Litchfield assist.
The two teams entered intermission with the host school holding a one goal advantage. Neither team was able to score in the second half as the two teams combined for five saves in the second stanza.
UNF's Andrew Calise took the loss for the Ospreys at goal. He surrendered a pair of goals, while recording two saves. John Davison was between the net in the final 15 minutes of the match. In his first outing as an Osprey, Davison did not allow a goal and collected a save.
Embry-Riddle's goalie Kile Kennedy allowed one goal, but recorded six saves on the night to preserve the victory.
The Ospreys took 11 shots on the night, including seven shots on goal. UNF was led by Lawrence who tallied five shots with four shots on goal and a goal.
Luis Montoya also recorded multiple shots on goal, finishing the match with two.
