
No. 60 UNF to Battle No. 75 ETSU for A-Sun Lead

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The No. 60 ranked University of North Florida women's tennis team will travel to Johnson City, Tenn. for a 1 p.m. match against No. 75 ETSU on Saturday, April 3 at Buddy Hartsell Tennis Center. UNF and ETSU are currently tied for first place in the Atlantic Sun with perfect 8-0 records.
UNF (17-1, 8-0 A-Sun) is coming off a 7-0 win over Campbell. The Ospreys swept all of the singles matches and won two of the three doubles matches in the win over the Camels.
Sophomore Aline Berkenbrock has remained undefeated on the season at No. 1 with an 18-0 record. Berkenbrock was honored this past week for her efforts by being named the A-Sun Player of the Week.
Junior Lauren Holton is also undefeated on the season with a 16-0 record, playing primarily at No. 6. Sophomore transfer Danielle Day and junior Victoria Krook are both 17-1 on the season with Day playing primarily at No. 3 and Krook at No. 4. Senior Raquel Castro has tallied a 14-3 mark at No. 2 while freshman Melanie Aguirre is 11-3 at No. 5.
The Bucs (13-3, 8-0 A-Sun) are the defending Atlantic Sun Champions and were picked to finish second in the 2010 A-Sun Preseason Coaches' Poll. ETSU is coming off a 5-2 win over Jacksonville.
Yevgeniya Stupak leads the Bucs at the No. 1 singles. She is currently ranked 119th in the ITA singles standings and was picked as the A-Sun Preseason Player of the Year. Karina Kedzo and Paula Jaime return after earning Atlantic Sun All-Conference second team and All-Freshman team honors last season.
The Ospreys will return home for their final match of the regular season, facing crosstown, conference rival Jacksonville on Wednesday, April 7 at 2 p.m. at the UNF Tennis Complex.
