Cross Country Recognized for Academic Excellence

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's cross country team was recognized by the NCAA Division I United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for its academic excellence being one of the 176 women's cross country programs across the nation to earn All-Academic Team Status.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.

The women compiled an overall GPA of 3.16 and placed 11th out of 23 teams in the NCAA Regional Qualifier last November in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Three other teams represented the Atlantic Sun Conference including Lipscomb (3.51 GPA), Belmont (3.40 GPA) and Jacksonville (3.38 GPA). The Big East had the most teams of any conference selected with 13.

Alabama leads the All-Academic Team honorees with a cumulative team GPA of 3.86.
