
No. 64 Ospreys Shutout Campbell, 7-0

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 64 ranked University of North Florida women's tennis team remained undefeated in Atlantic Sun games on Saturday afternoon with a 7-0 win over Campbell at the UNF Tennis Complex. The Ospreys improve to 17-1 overall and 8-0 in the A-Sun.
“Our team continues to play hard,” said head coach Rodrigo Puebla. “I am very proud of the team and the way they are competing. Having Aline at No. 1 and Lauren at No. 6 undefeated on the season is a huge accomplishment for them and our team.”
UNF won two of the three doubles match to secure the first point of the afternoon. Sophomore Aline Berkenbrock and senior Raquel Castro teamed up to defeated Ana Surviladze and Cristina Garcia Brunet, 8-2 at No. 1.
In the No. 3 doubles junior Victoria Krook and Lauren Holton paired up to down Blanca Saenz and Anais Gomar, 8-0.
In singles matches, Berkenbrock continued her undefeated streak with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Lisa Sutton at No. 1. At No. 2 Castro defeated Brunet, 5-7, 6-4(5).
Sophomore transfer Danielle Day grabbed a 6-3, 7-6(3) win over Saenz at No. 3 while Krook defeated Borislava Nikolova, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4.
Freshman Melanie Aguirre downed Surviladze, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 and Holton also remained unbeaten on the season with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Gomar.
“We have a lot of momentum right now as we get ready to play the last few matches of the regular season,” Puebla said. “Next week is going to be a real test for our team and we are going to have to be ready to play against ETSU.”
The Ospreys will be back in action on Saturday, April 3 when they travel to Johnson City, Tenn. to face No. 69 East Tennessee State at 1 p.m. UNF and ETSU are tied for first in the A-Sun.
