
#70 UNF Women’s Tennis Set to Host Samford

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's tennis team will host the Southen Conference's Samford at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, at the UNF Tennis Complex
The Ospreys (11-1, 4-0 A-Sun) swept Atlantic Sun opponents Belmont and Lipscomb over the weekend. UNF won all of its matches in singles and doubles to defeat both the Bruins and Bisons, 7-0.
Sophomore Aline Berkenbrock is 12-0 at No. 1 singles this season. Senior Raquel Castro is 9-2 on the year at the No. 2 position. Junior Lauren Holton is also undefeated at 10-0, playing at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots. Sophomore transfer Danielle Day has tallied an 11-1 record, playing primarily at No. 3, while junior Victoria Krook has an 11-1 record, playing primarily at No. 4.
Samford (8-4) is coming off a pair of wins over Davidson and Air Force. The Bulldogs are in their second year of competition in the SoCon. Samford returns seven players from last season, including First Team All-SoCon player Taylor Morgan and Second Team All-SoCon Doubles duo of Jessica Diamond and Andrie Meiring.
Following Tuesday's match, the Ospreys will be back on the road as they travel to Kennesaw State on Friday, March 19, for a 10 a.m. A-Sun match. The team will remain on the road for a Saturday, March 20, match at Mercer at 10 a.m.
