Saturday's games are a part of the WBCA Pink Zone initiative, a global, unified effort for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.
The WBCA's charity of choice is the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund, in partnership with The V Foundation. The 2009 campaign raised over $1.3 million, reached over 912,000 fans, unified more than 1,600 participating teams and organizations.
“There is no greater gift than the gift of giving,” said Driscoll. “Anytime we can use a stage to help promote awareness to raise funds we want to be a part of that and serve. We encourage and teach in our program that we are here to serve not be served.”
The Ospreys return home after a split against league-leaders Lipscomb and
Senior guard Stan Januska, UNF's second leading scorer, missed the Lipscomb and Belmont games because of a bruised lung and ribs suffered from a hard fall during the JU game on Jan. 29. He is being evaluated on a day-to-day basis.
Single-game tickets for basketball games are $10 for adults and $8 for youth 17-and-under and senior citizens 55-and-older. Children 2-and-under and any current UNF student with a valid Osprey1 Card are admitted free. Student guest passes for those events are $5 and limited to one per student.
